Search 11 kit relationships and dependency checks
Filter by mechanic, relationship type or unit. Evidence labels separate repeated pair guidance from one detailed kit record, tactical inference and a dependency the current source set cannot resolve.
Burn · Direct dependency
Burn application → Austere Flames conversion
- Source unit
- Flame Emperor (Reincarnate)
- Beneficiary or dependency
- Hollow (Blaze)
- Activation
- Flame Emperor applies or spreads Burn; Hollow attacks a burning enemy or sees Burn finish within range.
- Player decision
- Treat the pair as a placement-and-uptime engine. Hollow alone does not establish a reliable Burn source.
- Matched test
- Count Burn applications and Austere Flames conversions on the same route, first without and then with Flame Emperor.
Evidence boundary and sources
The relationship is documented; live range, timing, stacking and balance behavior still need a versioned field test.
Magical buff · Damage amplifier
Shadow Realm → Magical burst window
- Source unit
- Shadow (Divine)
- Beneficiary or dependency
- other Magical units
- Activation
- Shadow Realm is reported to grant all Magical units increased Damage for a temporary window.
- Player decision
- Bring Magical allies whose important attacks can land inside the active window; do not count rarity as a match.
- Matched test
- Keep formation and upgrades fixed, then compare the same boss window with and without Shadow Realm.
Evidence boundary and sources
The published percentage and duration are patch-sensitive; this matrix identifies eligible allies rather than simulating final DPS.
Magical buff · Damage amplifier
Teacher Blessing → nearby Magical units
- Source unit
- Forbidden Teacher
- Beneficiary or dependency
- other Magical units within range
- Activation
- Teacher Blessing buffs the Damage of Magical units within Forbidden Teacher's range.
- Player decision
- Use the slot only when the formation contains meaningful Magical beneficiaries inside the aura.
- Matched test
- Record the carry, aura coverage and upgrade state, then compare its output before and after the support is placed.
Evidence boundary and sources
The builder checks damage type, not actual placement; the live range ring decides whether the buff connects.
Physical buff · Damage amplifier
Hero Blessing → nearby Physical units
- Source unit
- The Hero
- Beneficiary or dependency
- other Physical units within range
- Activation
- Hero Blessing buffs the Damage of Physical units within The Hero's range.
- Player decision
- Center the support around Physical carries; a mixed team is useful only if the units that matter remain covered.
- Matched test
- Lock the Physical carry and formation, then measure the same wave with and without the aura.
Evidence boundary and sources
The detailed source establishes the target type; exact live coverage and upgrade scaling remain placement checks.
Mark · Damage amplifier
Puppet Mark → team damage on the strongest target
- Source unit
- Puppet (Telekinetic)
- Beneficiary or dependency
- other Damage units attacking the marked target
- Activation
- Puppet marks the strongest unmarked enemy in range; the marked enemy receives increased incoming damage.
- Player decision
- Use Puppet when multiple carries can focus the same durable target, especially a boss, rather than reading the mark as personal DPS only.
- Matched test
- Record mark uptime and each carry's matched boss window while holding target, upgrades and placement constant.
Evidence boundary and sources
The builder cannot prove that selected units hit the same target; targeting and range must be checked in the live run.
Follow-up · Formation link
Cursed Mimicry → closest allied attacker
- Source unit
- Cursed Student (True Love)
- Beneficiary or dependency
- a deliberately chosen nearby Damage ally
- Activation
- After three regular attacks, Cursed Student copies an attack from the closest allied unit within range.
- Player decision
- Control the nearest eligible ally instead of letting placement select an accidental copy target.
- Matched test
- Name the copied ally, fix both upgrade states and count copied attacks separately from Cursed Student's regular attacks.
Evidence boundary and sources
A selected teammate is only a candidate; the current formation and range determine which attack is actually copied.
Bleed · Unresolved dependency
Spirit Bats require Bleed stacks—but the provider is unresolved
- Source unit
- Cursed Student (True Love)
- Beneficiary or dependency
- a current, verified Bleed-stack provider within range
- Activation
- The reported equipment passive summons a Bat Spirit after a total Bleed-stack threshold is reached within range.
- Player decision
- Do not label another unit a Bleed enabler until its current kit or live panel explicitly applies Bleed.
- Matched test
- Capture the equipment panel and combat status labels, then record which unit applied each counted Bleed stack.
Evidence boundary and sources
The dependency is documented, but the present 21-unit kit record does not establish a compatible external Bleed provider.
Linked attacks · Formation link
String Sync → nearby allied follow-ups
- Source unit
- String Demon (Awakened)
- Beneficiary or dependency
- up to three deliberately placed nearby allies
- Activation
- The nearest ally's attack attaches a String; String Demon's next regular attack makes linked allies perform follow-ups.
- Player decision
- Choose the linked formation intentionally and favor a test long enough to observe attach, follow-up and lockout cycles.
- Matched test
- Record linked ally identities, successful follow-ups, Cocoon hit-count breaks and the 15-second re-link gap.
Evidence boundary and sources
Roster selection cannot determine nearest-unit ordering or whether all linked attacks reach useful targets.
Stun / Slow / Freeze / Rewind / blockers · Control window
Control windows → more potential attack cycles
- Source unit
- Shadow (Divine) · 8th Sword (Berserk) · Toy Maker · Lady Giant (Envy) · Puppet (Telekinetic) · Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1) · String Demon (Awakened) · Ice Queen
- Beneficiary or dependency
- Damage units covering the delayed lane
- Activation
- A documented Stun, Slow, Freeze, Rewind, wall, Doll or Toy delays enemies or blocks their path.
- Player decision
- Judge control by prevented leaks and extra useful attacks, not by assigning the controller an invented DPS value.
- Matched test
- Count delay duration, prevented leaks and additional allied attack cycles at one fixed placement.
Evidence boundary and sources
The control effects are reported; 'more attack cycles' is an explicit tactical inference that depends on pathing, immunity and coverage.
Debuff protection · Protection
Debuff Shield → nearest allied unit
- Source unit
- Water Princess
- Beneficiary or dependency
- the nearest ally that needs one-debuff protection
- Activation
- Water Princess grants the nearest ally a shield that blocks one debuff and later regenerates.
- Player decision
- Use it only when the stage applies a meaningful debuff and placement protects the intended carry.
- Matched test
- Record the blocked debuff, protected ally, refreshes and whether the protection changed the clear.
Evidence boundary and sources
The builder cannot identify the stage debuff or nearest ally; both remain live observations.
Ally damage transfer · Tradeoff
Seize powers True Saint by taking Damage from allies
- Source unit
- True Saint (Holy)
- Beneficiary or dependency
- up to three strongest nearby allied units
- Activation
- Seize is reported to take a share of Damage from the three strongest allied units within range for its active window.
- Player decision
- Treat the active as redistribution, not free team damage; verify whether weakening those allies improves the actual objective.
- Matched test
- Record the three contributing allies and compare total team output during the same boss window before and during Seize.
Evidence boundary and sources
The source describes the transfer; this tool does not calculate net team output without observed unit stats and timing.
Why it works
The five questions behind the report
Can the team finish waves?
At least one dependable Damage kit is the baseline. A team full of buffs, shields and farm still needs a unit that converts time and Yen into kills.
Can it create more attack cycles?
Slow, Stun, Rewind and blockers keep enemies inside range. The report treats Control as a separate job instead of assuming more damage always solves the lane.
Does economy repay itself?
Ramen Guy can accelerate longer runs, but a dedicated economy slot can be wasteful in a short boss stage. The selected mode changes that note.
Do buffs reach the right damage type?
Forbidden Teacher supports Magical units and The Hero supports Physical units. The builder warns when either occupies a slot without enough matching teammates.
Is a kit dependency actually enabled?
Hollow depends on a Burn source, Cursed Student depends on the nearby ally it copies, Shadow rewards other Magical damage, and Puppet’s mark becomes especially valuable against the strongest target. These relationships are more useful than a generic team score.
Three starting templates
Balanced Story shell
One accessible Damage unit + Ramen Guy + Ice Queen or Salmon Sorcerer gives damage, economy and control. Fill later slots with a second carry and a buff matching the main damage type.
Boss-pressure shell
A sustained carry + Puppet’s damage amplification + a matching support creates a clearer boss plan than stacking six unrelated damage units. Add control only if the boss or surrounding waves can be delayed.
Burn shell
Flame Emperor supplies Burn and Hollow converts it into additional damage. Add economy for long waves, control to hold enemies in the kill zone, compare Emperor's Attire and Hell's Flower in the equipment finder, and consult the traits calculator before chasing Draconic.
Competitive evidence gap
A relationship map—not another fixed “best team”
Current competitor coverage usually stops at a tier list, a static team shell or general placement advice. Those formats cannot tell whether your selected support has a matching beneficiary, whether Hollow has a documented Burn source, whether True Saint's active redistributes damage from stronger allies, or whether a Bleed-dependent equipment passive still lacks a verified provider.
This matrix keeps all four evidence states visible. Three relationships are repeated across a detailed kit reference and an independent unit analysis; six come from one detailed ability record; the control-to-extra-cycles link is explicitly labeled as tactical inference; and the current Bleed-provider gap remains unresolved instead of being filled with a convenient guess.
Data and limitations
The builder consumes the same 21-entry dataset as our unit kit finder. Ability behavior comes from the July 17 Pro Game Guides release-kit reference, with the Burn pair, Shadow/Forbidden Teacher Magical teams and broad support interpretations compared against Destructoid’s unit analysis. The report is deterministic and explainable: it does not claim access to private game data, current placement geometry, enemy immunity or live account inventory.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Anime Expeditions team?+
There is no universal six-unit lineup. Story, bosses and long waves value economy and control differently. Start with damage, add control, then choose economy or support based on the mode and carry type.
Which Anime Expeditions units have the best synergy?+
The clearest current direct pair is Flame Emperor feeding Burn to Hollow's Austere Flames conversions. Shadow and Forbidden Teacher support Magical teams, The Hero supports Physical teams, and Puppet Mark can amplify damage focused on the same durable target.
Does the builder calculate DPS?+
No. The builder checks source-labeled roles and kit relationships. Use the separate Damage Lab to compare two player-observed builds without inventing a universal unit-stat database.
Why does Hollow need Flame Emperor?+
Hollow's reported kit converts existing Burn into Austere Flames. Flame Emperor is the documented Burn source in the current 21-unit kit set, so selecting both enables a direct relationship.
Who supplies Bleed for Cursed Student's Spirit Bats?+
The current detailed source establishes that the equipment passive needs Bleed stacks, but this site's present 21-unit kit record does not establish a compatible external provider. The field remains unresolved until a current kit or live panel proves one.
