Choose by unit job
Single-placement carry or summoner
Unbound becomes more efficient when the unit already has one placement or when summons scale from its damage. Destructoid specifically highlights 8th Sword, Shadow, Puppet, Cursed Student and Toy Maker as strong candidates.
Critical or multi-hit carry
Forsaken compounds existing crit mechanics. Elf Mage and Reaper are current examples where crit-oriented kits make the bonus more purposeful.
Burn, Bleed or DOT
Draconic’s reported DOT increase makes it the natural target for Flame Emperor and Hollow. Do not pay for a DOT bonus on a kit that cannot apply lasting damage.
Farm, control or early filler
Investor belongs on an income unit; Bolt or Optics can improve control coverage. Avoid chasing a 0.1% trait on a temporary Legendary that will leave your team.
A reroll stop-loss that protects progress
- 1. Commit to the unit first. Evolve, test and confirm the unit remains in your main team before spending the largest reroll stash.
- 2. Pick a useful stopping tier. A relevant Bolt, Optics, Investor, Precision or Limit Breaker roll can be enough while your roster is still developing.
- 3. Set the budget before rolling. Use the calculator to see how low the natural probability still is; 100 rolls at 0.1% is only about a 9.5% natural chance.
- 4. Check live pity. Never infer your counter from this page. Read the current in-game menu, especially after patches.
Pair the result with the unit kit finder and our cross-source tier list.
Sources and confidence
Rates, effects, pity thresholds and reroll-station location were checked against the illustrated All Things How trait guide. Role-specific recommendations were compared with the unit-by-unit analysis from Destructoid. The probability calculator is our own transparent math, not an official simulator.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Anime Expeditions trait?+
Unbound has the highest reported damage ceiling, but it is not the best use of resources for every account. Primordial, Forsaken, Draconic, Investor or a strong mid-tier roll can fit a unit's actual job better.
What are the odds of Unbound in 100 rerolls?+
At the reported 0.1% base rate, 100 independent rolls give about a 9.5% natural chance of seeing at least one Unbound. That is not a guarantee.
Does pity make the calculator exact?+
No. The calculator applies the published base rate and reported hard-pity threshold. Always trust the live in-game counter if the developer changes rates or pity behavior.
