The twelve lower-rarity records below close the roster gap while staying intentionally narrow: name, rarity, published profile and a safe account action. They are not silently promoted into the deeper kit finder.

    Epic

    Epic
    Evidence boundary

    Flame · Physical

    Epic
    Evidence boundary

    Safe account action

    Epic

    Safe account action
Keep only while it contributes to the current Story team; no passive or active ability is claimed here.
  • Thunder Shinobi

    Storm · Magical

    Rare
    Evidence boundary
No passive or active ability is documented in the reviewed full-kit source.

    Rare
    Evidence boundary
No passive or active ability is documented in the reviewed full-kit source.
    Safe account action
Treat as an early Gale or Physical roster bridge until a better-supported role becomes available.

Name normalization: two current tables misspell Corps Captain as “Corps Captian.” This index uses the readable spelling while preserving the evidence boundary around its kit.

Collection route

Track Shiny units privately

Mark base copies, observed Shiny copies and chase targets across the same 33-name roster, then export JSON or CSV without connecting a Roblox account.

Rarity evidence

Verify Secret-unit claims

Inspect the two cross-source Secret identities and keep obtain methods, rates, pity and current availability unknown until first-party evidence appears.

Shadow (Divine)

Secret · Magical

DamageControlSummonSupport

Shadow Realm rewinds enemies and temporarily amplifies Magical allies; permanent spirit summons add damage and Stun coverage.

Trait direction

Unbound for summon scaling; Primordial is the broad fallback.

Open full unit profile →

8th Sword (Berserk)

Secret · Physical

DamageControl

Teleports to priority targets, Stuns and gains permanent damage from takedowns. Berserk rewards early stacking in longer runs.

Trait direction

Unbound for the highest carry ceiling; damage or speed rolls while building.

Open full unit profile →

Crimson (Brother)

Exclusive · Magical

DamageDOT

Marks enemies, triggers delayed explosions and leaves damaging pools. The active channels repeated damage along a selected line.

Trait direction

Unbound for raw scaling; Draconic if DOT contribution is the priority.

Open full unit profile →

Toy Maker

Exclusive · Psychic

SummonControlDamage

Summons blockers on paths instead of attacking. Toy health scales from current damage, making lane count and placement especially important.

Trait direction

Unbound is unusually efficient because the unit is already single-placement.

Open full unit profile →

True Saint (Holy)

Exclusive · Magical

DamageSupport

Marks enemies for critical detonations and can temporarily take damage from three nearby allies to power its active window.

Trait direction

A relevant mid-tier crit or damage roll; avoid an expensive chase early.

Open full unit profile →

Cursed Student (True Love)

Mythic · Physical

DamageSummonDOT

Copies a nearby ally's attack every third regular attack. Equipment turns Bleed stacks into short-lived spirit summons.

Trait direction

Unbound for scaling; Draconic is a valid Bleed-oriented stop.

Open full unit profile →

Elf Mage (Unleashed)

Mythic · Magical

Damage

Builds Arcane Charges into line, circle and full-AoE follow-ups while repeated charge cycles increase spell damage.

Trait direction

Forsaken to compound frequent follow-up attacks and crit scaling.

Open full unit profile →
DamageDOTSupport

Spreads Burn to nearby unburned targets and can place a Wall of Fire, making the kit strongest in a dedicated Burn setup.

Trait direction

Draconic for reported DOT damage and cost efficiency.

Open full unit profile →

Hollow (Blaze)

Mythic · Physical

DamageDOT

Converts existing Burn into Austere Flames when attacking or when Burn ends, so the unit depends on consistent Burn application.

Trait direction

Draconic; pair with Flame Emperor or another reliable Burn source.

Open full unit profile →

Lady Giant (Envy)

Mythic · Physical

DamageControlSummon

Creates walls and rock follow-ups, then transforms for much higher damage and range at the cost of slower attack timing.

Trait direction

Primordial offsets Giant-form speed while adding damage and range.

Open full unit profile →

Puppet (Telekinetic)

Mythic · Psychic

DamageSupportControlSummon

Marks the strongest enemy for increased incoming damage, rewinds enemies and can turn marked kills into defensive dolls.

Trait direction

Unbound for damage-scaled dolls; Primordial for general uptime.

Open full unit profile →

Reaper (Released)

Mythic · Physical

Damage

Gains permanent damage and crit chance by attacking different enemy types; critical hits also improve attack timing.

Trait direction

Forsaken fits the kit's existing critical loop better than single-placement Unbound.

Open full unit profile →

Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1)

Mythic · Magical

ControlSupport

Applies Slow through upgrades and Staggers enemies that enter the inner half of its range, protecting an established kill zone.

Trait direction

Primordial for broad stats; Bolt or Optics can be a cheaper control-focused stop.

Open full unit profile →

String Demon (Awakened)

Mythic · Magical

DamageControlSupport

Cocoons enemies until time or hit count breaks the Stun, while linked allies create coordinated follow-up attacks.

Trait direction

Primordial supports speed, range and hybrid damage/control value.

Open full unit profile →

Ice Queen

Legendary · Magical

ControlDamage

Finishes low-health enemies more efficiently and applies a two-second Freeze on a cooldown.

Trait direction

Bolt or Optics for more reliable control; do not overinvest.

Open full unit profile →

Greed

Legendary · Physical

Damage

Deals increased damage to Boss-type enemies, making it a straightforward early single-target specialist.

Trait direction

Limit Breaker or another usable damage roll while it remains on the team.

Open full unit profile →

Forbidden Teacher

Legendary · Magical

Support

Buffs nearby Magical units, with the damage bonus increasing through upgrades. Particularly relevant beside Shadow or other Magical carries.

Trait direction

Optics can improve buff coverage; preserve rare rerolls for a carry.

Open full unit profile →

Ramen Guy

Legendary · Physical

Economy

Increases Yen earned from kills by 50%, but selling refunds only 10% of total cost. Place with a payback plan.

Trait direction

Investor is the role-perfect target; stop rather than chasing combat traits.

Open full unit profile →

Scissor

Legendary · Physical

Damage

Repeated attacks against the same enemy stack a damage bonus, which makes it more useful against targets that survive multiple cycles.

Trait direction

Speed or crit rolls help sustained targeting; keep the budget modest.

Open full unit profile →

Water Princess

Legendary · Magical

Support

Shields the nearest ally from one debuff and regenerates the shield after 15 seconds.

Trait direction

Optics for placement flexibility; the utility does not require a rare DPS trait.

Open full unit profile →

The Hero

Legendary · Physical

Support

Buffs nearby Physical units, with the damage bonus growing at each upgrade. Use only when the carry actually benefits.

Trait direction

Optics for buff coverage; save high-end rerolls for the Physical carry.

How to read the finder

Tags describe jobs, not power

A Control tag means the kit can delay or reposition enemies. It does not mean that every map, cooldown or placement makes the control equally valuable.

Trait direction is a decision aid

Recommendations combine published effects with current kit analysis. They are not a claim that every account should chase the rarest trait.

Check exact rates with the Anime Expeditions traits calculator, build a lineup with the Anime Expeditions team builder, match its real bottleneck in the equipment finder, then use the cross-source tier list to judge investment confidence.

Sources and freshness

The 21 detailed names, rarity, damage type and core ability behavior were summarized from Nikola Savic's July 17 full-kit reference at Pro Game Guides. That source explicitly says Epic and Rare units were omitted because they have no abilities.

The twelve Epic and Rare identities and profiles were cross-checked between Savic's separate release-meta roster table and Yatin's July 17 full tier table at MrGuider. Trait directions for major damage units were compared with the July 16 analysis from Destructoid. We do not import low-rarity performance claims that lack a documented kit.

Compare and test instead of trusting a headline

The roster explains what a documented ability does; it does not invent private DPS tables. Put two candidates into the goal-aware unit comparison, compare equipment, Potential or trait changes with the player-input Damage Lab, then preserve the decisive versioned observation in the Field Test Lab.

Frequently asked questions

How many Anime Expeditions units are in the release roster?+

The reviewed release roster contains 33 names: 21 Secret-through-Legendary units with publicly reported kits plus six Epic and six Rare units whose identities and profiles are listed separately.

Why does the kit finder contain 21 units instead of 33?+

The current full-kit source explicitly reports that Epic and Rare release units do not have passive or active abilities. The complete roster still lists them, but the deeper finder is reserved for units whose documented kits support role and synergy analysis.

Which unit should I invest in first?+

Choose a long-term unit that fills the job your roster lacks, then verify its current tier and trait fit. A balanced damage, economy and control core matters more than rarity alone.
